SEND National Trial – Single Route of Redress: Webinar (Tuesday 17th April: 13.00)

Date: Tuesday 17th April 2018 | Time: 13.00

On 3 April 2018, a two year national trial will begin extending the powers of the First-tier Tribunal (SEND) to make non-binding recommendations on the health and social care aspects of Education, Health and Care plans (EHC plans), in addition to the educational aspects.

Our SEND National Trial webinar will provide an explanation of what the national trial is, outline the changes taking place as a result of the trial and, importantly, let you know what your rights are. Aimed at parents and carers of children with SEND, the content is particularly relevant if:

  • You or your young person has applied for an EHC needs assessment
  • Your child/young person has had an assessment and is awaiting a draft EHC plan
  • Your child/young person has an EHC plan but they need reassessment
  • The annual review of the EHC plan is due soon
  • You are considering, or have lodged, and appeal to the First Tier Tribunal about particular decisions made by your local authority after 3 April 2018

The webinar will guide you through the changes, ensuring parents and young people can make informed choices about potential entitlement to health and social care provision.

A download of the webinar PowerPoint presentation will be emailed to you following the webinar.

Duration: 45 minutes

Please note, there is no Q&A during this webinar.
