IPSEA will be running a Training Day for Parents, Carers (and supporting family members) in Exeter on the 26th June at the WESC Foundation.
This training will be held at the WESC Foundation, Topsham Road, Countess Wear, Exeter, Devon EX2 6HA. It will provide parents, carers and family members of children and young people with all types of special educational needs and/or disability (SEND) with an introduction to the law relating to the education and training of children and young people with SEND.
You do not need any previous knowledge of SEND Law, but you must be the parent, carer or family member of a child with SEND.
As the changes to SEND Law outlined in the new Children and Families Act 2014 come in to effect, this training will clarify and explain the new legal framework. If you are the parent, carer or supporting family member of a child/young person with SEND, our training will help you navigate the new legal framework.to ensure that your child gets the right educational support to meet their individual needs.
Please note: The day will start with registration at 9.45am. The training will begin at 10am and end at 2.30pm. There will then be a question and answer session until 3.15pm.
You will need to bring a packed lunch. Tea/coffee will be available on the day.
